From October 28th to 30th, 2024, we invite you to Performance Platform Lublin 2024. This event will transport us into the surprising and unconventional world of performance art, allowing us to experience it anew every time during three emotionally charged days of the festival. This year’s edition of the festival will direct us towards the past, present, and future.
Performance Platform Lublin has existed since 2009 and has become an integral part of Lublin’s cultural landscape, creating a space for independent, young creators. The festival brings together not only artists working with performance, but also those involved in the visual arts, movement, and sound. The main goal of this year’s platform is to showcase artistic works and create a space for the exchange of experiences and ideas between people from different generations, backgrounds, and places they live. We will present the richness of pathways, strategies, and directions in performative practices, enabling us to explore this dynamically evolving field of art together.
The artistic presentations will allow us to experience live art and observe the evolution of form and changes in the conceptualisation of performance actions. The first day will be dedicated to contemporary strategies and responses to the turbulent reality.
The multidimensional experience of modernity will be revealed by younger-generation artists: Bożna Wydrowska, Filipka Rutkowska, Pat Dudek, Ka Katharsis, and Przemysław Piniak.
On the second day, we will be joined by creative individuals who have defined the framework and milestones in the field of performance art: Janusz Bałdyga, Ewa Zarzycka, Katarzyna Kozyra, Arti Grabowski, Dariusz Fodczuk, and Paweł Korbus. The performances will take place in Lublin, a city that has been a supportive space for experimental actions since the 1970s. Since its inception, Galeria Labirynt has supported innovative approaches to the visual arts.
The third day of the festival will be dedicated to the creative work of individuals under the age of 30. The performances of the future will be presented by artists selected through an open call, including Damian Drozd, Sonia Dudek, Michał Kowalczys, Alicja Paszkiel, Niko Płaczek, Kuba Stępień, and Ala Urwał.
