Niko Płaczek – a performer, filmmaker, and writer. She holds a degree from the Film School in Łódź, specialising in animated film and special effects. Since 2019, she has been co-creating events and performing for the queer community in Poland. In collaboration with designer Yasia Khomenko, she created a performance for the exhibition “Helena Bohle-Szacka. Diffusion” (2021, Central Museum of Textiles in Łódź). Between 2023 and 2024, she developed choreographies combining film and movement at the ANIMATOR festival in Poznań. Her performances have been shown in clubs and galleries, including at Gallery Kannski in Reykjavik, Municipal Gallery Arsenal in Poznań, and Milonga Club during the Dragana Bar collective’s KEM event (with Kamil Wesołowski and Wojciech Grzegorzek). As a performer, she has appeared in works by Marta Ziółek and Kacper Szalecki. Her latest film, “Niebinarki” [Nonbinary] (2024), was shown as part of the exhibition “Get Over It” (2024) at Kronika Centre for Contemporary Art in Bytom. She lives in Warsaw.
